Summary:
The general objective is to determine the effectiveness of different roadside noise barriers in reducing noise pollution to the public.
As Malaysia is rapidly developing towards becoming an industrialised country, demands for dwellings have also increased rapidly. The trends currently in Malaysia is to develop new township in the fringe of big towns or cities. These new townships would be developed complete with the local amenities such as shops, restaurants and schools. The main mode of transportation between the newly developed township and the city is the motor vehicle.

Noise is unwanted sound and noise pollution are serious concerns now as traffic volumn increases. Noise barriers are common features in highways, railways, LRT or MRT sites amd these noise barrier walls are constructed to reduce noise levels from traffic to residence. This blog deals particularly in the design and types of noise barriers walls, its construction and how effective they are in noise level reduction.
